Not Tonight is a Dystopian RPG set in a Britain where brexit talks have collapsed and a new political party called Albion First rises to power led by the fascist Simon Travener. The player is a British national of European Descent and they are forced to work hard or be deported to their ‘country of citizenship’. The core gameplay mechanic is similar to Papers Please but instead of checking immigrants papers you are checking clubbers ids on the way into bars and nightclubs.

The gameplay at first is really fun but it soon starts to decline after it gets repetitive. I was really looking forward to this game when I first heard about it a few months back but i’m afraid i was disappointed as after an hour or two of gameplay it becomes the same old id checking game. In your first month you are told your have to make two grand to stay in the country, at first this looks like a tall order considering you only make about a hundred quid a job but this escalates perpetually as you will soon be making six or seven hundred when you become a ‘head doorman’ at a club.
Ending on a positive note however a really nice feature SPOILER at the end after you finish the game some of the people you interacted with will comeback to either judge you or say how you helped them. After that their is a ‘victory party’ where you will be letting the developers into a nightclub and you will get their names and see what part they played in developing the game. overall the game is pretty boring, if you like papers please you might like it but i’m not making any guarantees.
